Talk to Nour by typing in the box, or hold the mic button while you speak and let go when you're done. Nour answers in writing and out loud.
The buttons at the top (Homework help, Read with me, Word game, Maths practice, Just chat) are quick ways to start. You can also just say what you want.
Stars β are for trying hard, finishing a step, or beating your own time. Nour never takes stars away. Mama and Baba decide what stars are worth.
When you're finished, tap Finish for today. Nour says goodbye and remembers what you did for next time.
For parents
What Nour is. A chat companion built around your child's profile (from your answers on the Parents page): short messages, one instruction at a time, timed repeated reading, maths one step per line, praise for effort, no comparisons, and the topics you marked off-limits. She works on any device: your child enters the family code and their PIN once.
Voice. The mic uses the iPad's built-in speech recognition (English or Arabic β switch at the bottom). Replies are read aloud. If a cloud voice is set up (set up by the Nour team), Nour has the same natural voice on every device. Otherwise the device's own voice is used β pick one below; your child hears a sample when you change it. On an iPad the built-in voice sounds robotic until you download a better one: Settings β Accessibility β Spoken Content β Voices β English β Samantha, Karen, Zoe or Ava β download the Enhanced or Premium version, then choose it here.
Timing a reading. When Nour gives a passage, your child types "done" when finished; Nour uses the message times to tell her the seconds, then has them read it again to beat it.
Memory. Each session is saved when you tap Finish for today: a summary, what went well, what was hard, mood, stars, and anything you must know (flagged in red under Parents). Nour reads the last five summaries at the start of the next session, so she can say "last time we did fractions".
Best time. A daily 20β30 minutes before homework or as its first part, when your child still has energy.
Changing Nour. Anything you want different β tone, activities, rules β write it under Settings β Customise Nour on the Parents page, or add notes and upload school reports under Information.
Voice settings
Saved on this device. If a list says "none on this device", that language's voice isn't installed.
